Social Change now working in Dubai

11 July 2007

Social Change Online is working on a web project for the Persian Gulf’s Dubai City.

The project will deliver real time access to mapping data that provides a better understanding of the coastal processes in Dubai.

The web site will display data from bathymetric and topographic surveys, video monitoring, wave and current recording, and sediment sampling and analysis. These measurements provide knowledge to underpin the sustained use of resources in the Dubai coastal zone for key economic and environmental activities.

The project, commissioned by the Dubai Municipality, is being undertaken by a consortium of four companies: Dubai's Dome International LLC, , the UK's HR Wallingford, Social Change Online from Australia, and Advanced Imaging Technologies of the US.

Social Change's responsibility is to provide a website utilising its AIMS content management system, as well as expertise in delivering web-based charting and mapping facilities.
