Easy-to-use module for members to Join, Renew & Pay Online

04 September 2006

For organisations such as Trade Unions it's becoming increasingly important to provide streamlined and flexible ways for members to join and renew. The are a number of factors behind this:

  • New IR changes mean that many unions can no longer depend on payroll deductions to collect membership fees.
  • Electronic payment methods are becoming more affordable
  • Widespread adoption of internet and computers amongst users
  • A growing awareness that making it easier for people to join and pay makes a difference to member numbers

Social Change has developed a new online membership and payments solution that provides seamless join, renewal and payment facilities. It has been designed specifically for the needs of membership organisations ranging from small branch organisations through to large national unions with complex fee structures.

A new member is guided through multiple steps to arrive at an appropriate type and fee. A user might select state, industry, job classification, sub-classification, membership period, payment method and frequency. The system will then work out the appropriate fee and will allow the user to pay on-line by credit card or direct debit. The system also supports online registration for recurring credit card or direct debit.

Social Change makes it easy by packaging everything required into one end-to-end module that includes electronic payment services provided by our partner, Comsecure. It simply bolts on to an existing web site.

This module is currently being used by NSW Teachers Federation and is also being implemented for state unions such as Rail Tram and Bus Union of NSW, NSW Nurses Association, ASU Services NSW. Its also being implemented for all state branches of the LHMU National.
