Reach Out! site finalist in global web awards!

The Reach Out! web site has made the finalists list for the International Cable and Wireless ChildNet Award - finalist in not-for profit category.

Hosted by Childnet International, the Award will be presented in Paris, France on 4 April 2002. See www.childnet-int.org/awards/ for more details.

A project of the Inspire foundation, the Reach Out! site has been developed by Social Change Online since 1997.

Reach Out! (www.reachout.com.au) is a service that

uses the Internet to help young people get through tough times.

Developed in response to Australia's unacceptably high rates of youth suicide and attempted suicide, Reach Out! provides much-needed information, assistance and referrals in a format that appeals to young people.

Reach Out! is based on the idea that the Internet offers unprecedented opportunities to reach out to people - especially young people - to connect, empower and inspire. Reach Out! offers an anonymous and stigma-free way to get help, explore issues and to discover how other young people have got through difficult times.
