Feature: 68 Councils Online with the Local-e Project

Local e
The Local-e project has provided 68 rural and regional NSW Councils with a sophisticated website in Australia's biggest local government internet project.

The Local-E project came about in an effort to address the problem of rural Councils lagging behind metropolitan Councils in the use of internet based services, despite growing community needs and expectations. Rural Councils did not have the funds to maintain a static website and their communities were frustrated with difficulties and time delays in obtaining information. learn more about this project's success.

Case Study

LHMU
The Liquor Hospitality & Miscellaneous Union ("LHMU") has 130,000 members from many sectors including child care workers, security guards, cleaners, and hotel workers. LHMU has had an AIMS-powered website for over 6 years and uses its Campaigning Module to stunning effect, most recently with their massively successful Pink Salt Campaign.

The "My Restaurant Rules" contestant, Pink Salt, tried to force their staff onto individual employment contracts instead of paying the agreed award. In response, the LHMU co-ordinated an email and Google campaign which resulted in 1,200 emails to the restaurant, and 135,000 appearances of their Google sponsored advertisement with 2,000 click throughs to the LHMU site. read more more
